Ix symbolizes the heart of the earth, the unconsciousness and the matter at once.
The unconsciousness is the fertile ground that allows spirit to grow, as the earth for the plant.
Ix is the invisible, the mystery the unknown. It gives the power of creation of life out of nothing. Ix is the jaguar, a feminine principle that creates fertility for human, animals and plants.

Ix is the nawal of the shamans, the ones who travel through different levels of consciousness, and know the primal language, the universal communication tool that allow to speak with animals, plants, mountains.

The Tzolkin Calendar describes a natural cycle of life of 260 days.

It is composed of two under cycles of 13 Tons and 20 Kins. The Tons represent the energy of development, the objective of the day and the Kins the energy of creation, the character.

Each Tons and Kins has a different purpose, the combination of all Tons and Kins gives the whole cycle duration of 260 days (13x20=260).

Like other old and modern civilizations, the Mayan believe that every thing in the universe is dual. As the light and humans, the time also is dual. It has a physical part, the course of the earth around the sun, his body and has a wave part, his spirit.

The Tzolkin describes this wave. It is the formation process of the universal consciousness. The one present everywhere, and in fact with no defined location.

Time is seen as periods of consciousness and periods of unconsciousness, each giving the living entity the basic knowledge to understand the world.
The repeating of the process acts like the sun on the plants making it to grow.
To simplify, you can imagine you have a spotlight in front of your eyes, it is blowing around 12 hours and it is off during 12 hours. It is showing you a message each time it is on and you record this message in your unconsciousness during the night time. There are 260 messages to learn.
In fact time is nothing else than a learning process.

The using of the Tzolkin started some 5000 years ago, but of course the cycle existed from the beginning of all things, a long time before the existence of our solar system.

A calendar is the support you use to understand the suite of days you live.
If you follow a sun based calendar, you synchronize yourself on the materialistic part of the world, you will understand that there are seasons.
If you follow a spirit based calendar, you synchronize yourself on the spiritual part of the world, you will understand that universe has the same spirit as yours.
